We were asked to originate and position the packaging design for a new range of plant-based barista alternatives for coffee retail - oat, soya and coconut. An immediate collaborative relationship with the client enabled us to explore a distinctive and previously untapped direction within the category.
The name Zilk was developed as an alternative spelling for this plant-based alternative. The logo style evoked the simple, super-modern name. At the heart of zilk is an immersive coffee experience. This is expressed through the packaging illustration style, featuring contemporary figures relaxing within the drink.
A comprehensive set of brand guidelines was developed to ensure consistency across all touchpoints. The resulting positioning, visual identity and strong on-shelf presence enabled the range to stand apart from competitors, culminating in a Silver award at The Grocer New Packaging Awards.
